Vision:
Main vision of ICT @ project is to provide computer literacy & Computer Aided Education in government granted and non-granted schools to school students and school teachers. Before year 2015 all schools across the state may be covered under this project. In this project 11 computers and other related equipment like Broadband connectivity form BSNL, printers, scanners, LCD TV, KU Band Dish antenna, DECU DVDs etc will be given in each school identified under this project.

After providing computers and other related equipment school co-ordinators, who are appointed by implementing agencies M/s NIIT Ltd., M/s Educomp Solution Ltd., M/s. HCL Infosystems Ltd., M/s. IL&FS Education & Technology Services Ltd. and M/s. Core Projects & Technologies Ltd. will give students and teachers training on Ubuntu, Linux based operating system and Open office. Under this project one school co-ordinators is appointed per 5 schools. About 1200 school co-ordinators are appointed by the agencies for all 5970 schools covered in this project. These school co-ordinators are regularly visiting their schools as per their weekly scheduled. These school co-ordinators are teaching students as well as teachers of the schools basic functioning of computers and its applications which help students in understanding subjects in better way. Aim of this project is not only make students computer literate but they use their knowledge of computer for getting “Computer Aided Education” which is more interesting than learning subjects by “chalk & talk”.

Mission:
Our Mission is to spread knowledge of computer and computer aided education across the state and cover maximum students we can cover under this project. ICT @ School project is challenging mission which is going to be implemented by Commissionerate of School officer in coordination with M/s NIIT Ltd., M/s Educomp Solution Ltd., M/s. HCL Infosystems Ltd., M/s. IL&FS Education & Technology Services Ltd. and M/s. Core Projects & Technologies Ltd. for providing computer aided education so that student get more interest in their subject and they study in proper way.

Policy Goals:
To achieve the above, the ICT Policy in School Education will endeavor to:

Universal, equitable, open and free access to state of the art ICT and ICT enabled tools and resources to all students and teachers. Development of local and localized quality content and enable students and teachers to partner in the development and critical use of shared digital resources. Development of professional networks of teachers, resource persons and schools to catalyse and support resource sharing, up gradation, and continuing education of teachers; guidance, counselling and academic support to students; and resource sharing, management and networking of school managers and administrators, resulting in improved efficiencies in the schooling process. Research, evaluation and experimentation in ICT tools and ICT enabled practices in order to inform, guide and critically utilise the potentials of ICT in school education.

Implementation:
To impart Computer Education & Computer Aided Learning to the students of Secondary and Hr. Secondary students of the state Government of Gujarat intent to provide computer & peripherals to each school of the state under Central Sponsored Scheme ICT@Schools. Total 5970 schools are covered under this project.

Each school is visited by the school coordinator every week for Educational and maintenance support.

K U Band dish antenna is provided for Educational programme telecast by the EDUSET and BISAG.

Broadband internet connectivity is provided to each school through B.S.N.L. under this project.

Websites of 325 Government Secondary Schools prepared by the school coordinators deployed by the agencies during Diwali Vacation of 2011-12.

729 surprise inspections of the schools have been done by the District Education Officers, Education Inspectors & Assistance Education Officer in the District in March-April, 2012.

Total 29850 teachers had been trained under ICT Project.
